• Currently, Estrella is preparing her new program, Canto de Cuba, of which you can hear a musical preview elsewhere on this site.


• October 2008 saw Estrella performing two concerts as a soloist: in Anchorage at the Alaska Native Heritage Center (with a.o. Cuban percussionist Jimmy Branly), and at Bake's Place in Seattle with the trio of Brazilian pianist Jovino Santos Neto.


• Estrella is featured on a track of Dutch bandoneon ace Carel Kraayenhof's new cd, Memorias de Cuba; the other features are for vocalists Trijntje Oosterhuis, Paskal Jacobsen and Fabian Nodarse.


• 'Estrella's Guajira' had a wonderful tour of the USA and Canada in September 2007. The band got a great reception at the Madison World Music Festival,   World Music Chicago 2007 and the Small World Music Festival in Toronto.
